Great People Making Lifesaving ProductsWe are currently seeking an Intern as an Electrical Test Engineer to join our highly skilled, dynamic team.CompetenciesAdaptabilityCommunicationsTeamworkPrimary ResponsibilitiesAssist in performing detailed electronic design for products used in a wide variety of applications.Support development of reliable, cost effective, manufacturable electronic products from initial studying of customer requirements through documenting design verification activities.Perform circuit analysis, simulations, and concept/feasibility design activities.Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies.Create detailed block diagrams & circuit schematics.Support/Assist printed circuit board layout activities.Support/Assist prototype build & test activities.Write technical documents such as: 1. Design specifications. 2. Verification test plans & reports. 3. Hazard Analysis and other DHF deliverables.Support/Assist development & integration with mechanical and software engineering.Practice good engineering design process; version control, lead design reviews, documented design history, complete projects within budgetary and scheduling goals.Work and communicate with leaders, engineers and project managers to ensure project completion.Support project planning and project proposal efforts.Present verbally in one-on-one or group settings.Education / ExperienceWorking towards undergraduate degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineer.Previous experience conducting technical testing, simulation and/or prototyping, preferredDemonstrated experience in completing projects and/or designing solutionsAssists with quality assurance of all products.Maintains high standard of professionalism in attitude and communication with fellow employees and customers.Maintains a clean and professional office and work area environment.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing prioritiesExperience with the product development process ranging from requirements development, prototyping, verification and product release and experience in medical device design or other regulated industries are preferred.Experience in design and troubleshooting, using complex instruments such as Oscilloscopes, Bit Error Rate Testers, eye diagrams, and high-speed designs and cabling preferred.Certain positions at Nortech require access to information, or technology that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other US government security regulations.
