WestRock Company Training Auditor in Claremont, North Carolina

GENERAL PURPOSE: Responsible for handling the employee position training/audits within the Performance Excellence program. Ensures that employees have the required knowledge and skills to perform their jobs and support business needs. Performs audits and monitors the effectiveness of training activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitate the onboarding process to achieve level 1 certification before employee goes to the production floor.

  • Coordinate and/or facilitate training program outlined within C-Pro/Element Tree for each position. Training will consist of classroom, on the job training, outside or vendor training and shadowing. Assist in writing, updating Work Instructions and Single Point Lessons.

  • Conduct audits for certification within the Performance Excellence framework.

  • Give monthly reports/report cards to managers and T&D leader on employee progress.

  • Ensure technical resources, training materials and supplies are available.

  • Track training progress and follow up with trainees to keep them on track, ensure completion of training programs in a timely, productive manner.

  • Maintain employee training records within the C-Pro system.

  • Maintain and update all required employee paperwork, including filing training certifications, and all other training documentation.

  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in handling employee information.

  • Work closely and efficiently with all departments.

  • Work proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company.

  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions.

  • Perform all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties.

  • Work flexible hours and overtime, as necessary, to meet the training needs of all shifts.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management or Training and Development.

  • Expected to be an active member on a Performance Excellence team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D., some college preferred.

  • Three years of work-related experience in a folding carton manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Completed a company sponsored leadership training class.

  • Strong attention to detail; organizational and record-keeping skills.

  • Must be able to handle multiple projects and priorities in a professional and timely manner.

  • Must be able to effectively facilitate formal and informal training.

  • Must be able to evaluate training needs.

  • Provide feedback to Training and Development, and Management regarding training opportunities in support of site goals/processes.

  • Must be self-starter and proactive in resolving problems and issues.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to read, analyze and interpret general information and data.

  • Must be able to effectively interact with all levels of personnel.

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.

  • Must be able to learn and navigate site’s C-Pro Software.

  • Must be able to recognize and report gaps through the audit process.

  • Must have general or specific knowledge of business processes.

  • Must complete cGMP/SQF training and position training.

  • Must pass color-blindness testing.

  • Must pass Company pre-employment testing.

  • Must complete an approved Train the Trainer class and be certified in the first 90-days.

  • Must be able to perform essential functions of job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
