DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Auditor 1, you will act as a lead worker in providing support, training, and guidance for the Accounting Assistants in the Firearms Compliance Unit. You will also review reconciled accounts and related documentation for completeness and accuracy, and make final adjustments to accounts when required. You will identify procedural issues and report problems to the Audit Supervisor, as well as establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with departmental staff, dealers, and other agencies. You will access and review batch reports for identification of account discrepancies; interpret legislation, rules, regulations, and policies for staff; and provide advice for dealers and sheriffs. Additionally, you will conduct on-site instructional seminars for firearm dealers and provide assistance and expertise to various state and federal agencies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule includes rotating days, holidays and weekends. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,839.00 (before taxes). Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of accounting and/or auditing experience; and fifteen (15) college level credits in accounting; or One year of experience as a Financial Programs Trainee; or Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which includes fifteen (15) college level credits in accounting and auditing.
