IT Auditor

Job Description:

Under supervision, performs audits in accordance with the approved audit work program; company policies, procedures and standards; and generally accepted information systems auditing techniques. Obtains, analyzes, and evaluates evidentiary data as a basis for an informed objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system of control and on the efficiency of performance of the activities being reviewed.

Assists in planning work on assigned segments of the audit. Assists in determining records or activities to analyze and the extent of tests to apply. Prepares working papers that record and summarize data on the assigned audit segment. Assists with the general overall administration of audits; time and audit schedule performance; work paper organization/compilation; and client and departmental meetings.

Holds, or assists in holding, preliminary discussions of apparent deficiencies with appropriate management personnel to verify facts and identify resolutions.

Prepares, or assists in preparing, oral or written reports for management, discussing audit findings, recommending corrective action, and suggesting control and operational efficiency improvements. Follows up on audit recommendations to ensure management has taken timely appropriate action.

Performs IT SOX control testing, including application control testing. Assists with the documentation of SOX issues.

Physical Effort:

Primarily sitting. Occasional walking, lifting, climbing, and driving associated with required field job accountabilities and work conditions.

A successful academic or work background with an ability absorb information and achieve results. Competencies: Interpersonal skills and professionalism. Positive team attitude. Ability to work with confidential or sensitive matters. Ability to effectively deal with rapid business change while maintaining enthusiasm and displaying sound judgment and common sense.

Work Conditions:

Normal office and plant environments. On-site reviews and field visitations are required. Occasional overnight travel required.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, accounting or finance, or an alternate combination of education and experience which results in equivalent job knowledge.
