IT Systems Engineer-Workstation Engineering
Troubleshoots and resolves moderately complex infrastructure hardware and software problems for multi-user computer platforms. Participates in problem resolution activities and resolves moderately complex technology issues.
Installs and maintains infrastructure hardware and software. Implements standard practices for support and maintenance activities.
Participates in performance monitoring, tuning, availability, security, and capacity planning of multi-user computer platforms.
Participates in the engineering, design, and project management of multi-user computer platforms. Develops and maintains diagrams documenting systems.
Participates in technology evaluation and selection processes, ensuring compatibility between client requirements and technical performance. Documents analysis and recommendations.
Effectively communicates with clients, peers and management by blending appropriate levels of technical and business detail to ensure issues are thoroughly understood by his/her audience.
Develops and maintains relationships with clients, peers, vendors and management.
Works in conjunction with IT Security to ensure that company security is not compromised.
Supports NERC-CIP compliance and ensures that electronic and physical security policies are followed. When working on NERC-CIP designated systems, adhere to the defined NERC-CIP procedures that includes documenting and evidencing all changes to the infrastructure hardware or software.
Participates in development of satisfactory backup and restore practices as well as disaster recovery planning and testing.
Participates in establishing processes and procedures that improve efficiency and support compliance with federal and regulatory requirements.
Participates in the reporting of Service Level Agreements and Key Service Indicators to management.
Participates in managing cost and budget forecasting for Capital and Operational and Maintenance activities.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Two or more years’ experience working with Microsoft SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) in creating and deploying software packages, creating and updating custom desktop images using OSD/MDT, and security patch management
Advanced knowledge in Active Directory Group policies for security and endpoint management.
Advanced knowledge of automation scripting using PowerShell or other languages.
Experience in virtualization technologies such as Microsoft App-V or Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop.
Experience with Windows 10, Office 365, Azure Administration, Intune, or other cloud management.
Certifications Microsoft or Citrix technologies.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced complex environment.
Possesses moderate knowledge of various technologies and demonstrates the ability to leverage and appropriately integrate those technologies. Balances technology integration alternatives and recommends action with consideration to both technical efficiency and effectiveness.
A successful academic and work background indicating a demonstrated ability to absorb information, apply conceptual skills in practical applications, achieve desired results in a highly technical, operating environment. Incumbent must effectively deal with the rapid technological and business change while maintaining enthusiasm and displaying sound judgment.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, plus minimum 2 years’ experience providing server/desktop support in a Microsoft or Citrix environment. Alternate combination of education and experience which results in the equivalent job knowledge and skills will also be considered.
