Langan is seeking a Power & Transmission Leader with a specialization in Design Build Linear experience to join its team in New York or White Plains, NY. This individual will serve a key function in route selection/evaluation, ductbank design, permitting and client management efforts for a variety of linear transmission projects. As a member of our rapidly expanding Power & Transmission practice, you will be part of the driving force behind Langan’s continuing growth.

  • Manage multi-disciplinary efforts on a variety of project sites, with a focus on linear transmission (138 to 345 kV) projects, including the design, permitting, and construction oversight of linear work;

  • Perform and manage multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines;

  • Drive business development activities by further strengthening relationships with existing power utility clients and identifying opportunities by developing new EPC clients for the firm;

  • Supervise and mentor a team of technical staff working on a variety of linear-related tasks that include conceptual route selection, 30%, 60%, 90% design packages, IFC drawings, SWPPP development, and permitting tasks; and

  • Write and review draft proposals and reports, including feasibility studies, design, technical specifications, and utility reports.

    Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree preferred;

  • 10+ years of experience developing concepts, permitting, and overseeing the design and construction of linear infrastructure assignments;

  • 5+ years of multidisciplinary project management experience;

  • Valid Professional Engineer license;

  • Knowledge of land use processes and regulations; and,

  • Ability to perform limited travel to project sites.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage, motivate, mentor and lead others;

  • Demonstrated ability effectively managing multi-disciplinary linear projects from concept through construction documents and project close-out;

  • Working knowledge of Article VII, revocable consent, and/or 94-C process in New York State;

  • Existing working relationships with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDEP, NYCDEC, USACE, local railroads, MTA, NYSPSC, NYCDPR, power utility companies, etc.;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and proposals;

  • Effective computer skills including GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, word processing, and spreadsheet software;

  • Ability to effectively interface with coworkers, clients, community stakeholders, and regulatory agencies;

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent technical and judgment capabilities; and

  • Possessing a valid driver’s license in good standing is preferred.

    Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. This position is also eligible to participate in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
