Providence St. Joseph Health Nurse Technician - SMG Ambulatory Clinics in Seattle, Washington

Description The Nurse Technician is currently enrolled in good standing in a nursing program approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing and a nationally accredited nursing program such as Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), who has completed at least one academic term which included a clinical component. The Nurse Tech functions under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and within the scope of practice defined by the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Responsible for providing direct patient care, applying current health concepts, and assisting with routine or general clinical responsibilities that may contribute directly or indirectly to patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Job duties and direct patient care roles to be performed progressively as defined/allowed by the school program validation documentation. May work up to the documented and verified level of academic competence accomplished in the individual's education program. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Our clinics are located throughout the Greater Puget Sound area and include Primary and Specialty Care. Required qualifications: Coursework/Training and Current enrollment in and satisfactory completion of at least one academic term (quarter or semester) of a Washington State Nursing Commission approved and a nationally accredited nursing program such as Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). And Coursework/Training and Nursing program education and practice in the scope of care for the patient population (i.e. pediatrics, family medicine, cardiac, OB, etc.). The nursing technician will provide written documentation by their nursing program of the specific nursing functions/tasks they are able to perform. And Coursework/Training and Continued enrollment in a Washington State Nursing Commission approved nursing program and a nationally accredited nursing program such as Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This enrollment must be maintained throughout employment as a Nursing Technician. This enrollment includes periods of scheduled vacation and holiday time. Official enrollment does not include any of the following: leave of absence from a nursing program; withdrawal (temporary or permanent) from a nursing program; enrollment in prerequisite course study or courses offered through the department of nursing or allied health programs with no current official enrollment into an approved nursing program; and students awaiting re-enrollment into a nursing program.
