Job Summary:

If you are highly organized with great attention to detail and a desire to engage our community on a wellbeing journey, then join Blue Zones Project in Mendocino County as an Intern this Summer. This role will support the administrative functions of the Mendocino County project.

*This Summer 2024 internship is for 10-20 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours are required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work with project manager and local team to assist with engaging organizations to become Blue Zones Approved, including assistance with gathering and reporting validation certification documentation.

  • Work with project manager and local team to plan and execute events for partner organizations and the community including cooking classes, Purpose Workshops, the Blue Zones Project Story speech, and other wellness programming.

  • Assist with tracking documentation and reporting in Smartsheets.

  • Assist with maintaining and organizing inventory of event supplies and SWAG.

  • Assist with promotion on Facebook and Instagram posts, stories, and ads.

  • Assist on-site at fast-paced community and partner events, as well as help staff the Blue Zones Project booth at various community events.

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) to offer support at events including set-up and tear-down.

  • Engage community members, including at events, and create points of connection with Blue Zones Project values and wellbeing principles.

  • Articulate Blue Zones Project story and community transformation model.

  • Pitch creative ideas for BZPMC social media channels including Facebook and Instagram.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Highly organized with the ability to track details and multitask on numerous projects.

  • Reliable with good time management skills. Prompt.

  • Good follow through with attention to detail.

  • Basic understanding of and interest in major social media platforms and their best practices.

  • Grammar and writing skills.

  • Willingness to learn and take direction from creative leads.

  • Cultural awareness and a commitment to health equity, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (especially Word and Excel).

  • Must have transportation

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Salary:

  • $16.00/hour
