Position : Fuels System - Electrical Journeyman (Light Industrial)

Reports to : Fuel Distribution System Maintenance Manager (FDSMM)

FLSA : Full-Time, Exempt

Location : Al Udeid, Qatar

POSITION SUMMARY:

Inspect, test, clean, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical and electronic systems, switchgear, wiring, components, equipment, apparatus, fixtures, electrical power generation equipment, cathodic protection systems, heat detection circuits and fire alarm control panels . Operates a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions. Use plans, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Electrician shall possess and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of applicable codes, standards, regulations, tools, equipment and materials common to the electrical trade. Shall be able to i nstall, inspect, clean, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lighting, circuit breakers, relays and all other electrical components in the maintenance of the fuels distribution system. I nspect electrical systems and circuits including all system-wide wiring, and components, to determine condition of electrical equipment and identify maintenance requirements. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repair on main circuit breakers, power distribution panels, circuit breaker panels, power generation equipment, generator paralleling switchgear, manual transfer switches, pump control panels, motor control centers, fuel tank gauging systems, cathodic protection systems, heat detection circuits and fire alarm control panels.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ worth of documented experience in the electrical trade

  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining power generation equipment and related switchgear

  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining electronic control circuits

  • Ability to obtain or maintain a government security clearance, and/or Favorable Background Investigation (BI)

  • Experience with programmable controllers is desirable
