Applied Research Associates, Inc. Senior Administrative Assistant in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description

The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a responsive, proactive Senior Administrative Assistant to support the DoD in development of a multi-component/technology system to counter an adversary deep behind enemy lines. This contingent position, expected to start late summer or early fall 2024, will support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) in the National Capital Region, from ARA facilities, and via telecommuting when approved. In this position the employee will assist in compiling, preparing, and routing technical documents both inside the organization and to other agencies. The employee will also make travel arrangements and will assist program personnel with any administrative issues they may have.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

  • 5-7 years of recent and relevant experience providing administrative assistance to government agencies

  • Current DoD TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent verbal/written communications skills to support senior-level communications and engagements

  • Experience passing clearances within the DoD and IC environments

  • Experience using the Defense Travel System

  • Experience using OSD’s correspondence workflow systems, CATMS

  • Good time management skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Post-high school education and degrees

  • Relevant certifications

  • Experience supporting OSD and/or DARPA

This position is contingent upon award of a contract (one base year + four option years) expected in late summer or early fall 2024. The work location is on-site in the National Capital Region, from ARA facilities, and via telecommuting when approved.
