MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Minimum: Associates Degree or Diploma Required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred. Current West Virginia Registered Nurse Licensure, or current multi-state licensure within state of practice. Current BLS and ACLS certification. _EXPERIENCE: Two to three years nursing experience required; five to seven years of nursing experience preferred. Management experience in hospital/health care environment and nursing supervisory experience required. _PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Completes annual education requirements. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Maintains regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, local regulations and accrediting organization standards related to the hospital. Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire safety, emergency management and infection prevention and control. Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directive to staff and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department. __NATURE OF WORK: The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the activities of the total patient care services during his/her assigned shift. Assists in organizing and administering the Department of Nursing; assumes responsibilities delegated by Director of Nursing to assure that service complies with professional, State, Federal, and licensing agencies.
