The Internal Auditor is a valued member of the Evans Internal Audit team, aiding in audit work programs for the organization. The position is responsible for ensuring the proper utilization of audit programs to review and assess the effectiveness of internal controls for assigned audits.

What we ask of you:
Perform financial, operational and compliance audits, and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Section 404 control testing as assigned in accordance with the audit plan
Participate in the preparation of audits with objectivity, integrity, independence, accuracy and completeness, conduct interviews, complete audits within budgeted hours
Perform appropriate research to gain a basic knowledge and understanding of Bank products, business units and regulatory requirements
Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls within the audit performed. Informs audit management of risks identified
Prepare complete and accurate workpapers throughout the audit process
Complete less complex audits independently in accordance with audit procedures and IIA guidance
Discuss preliminary audit findings with the appropriate levels of management
Participate in meetings with appropriate bank personnel to finalize the audit and prepare written audit comments of inclusion in the audit report
Provide assistance to external auditors as requested
Actively seek to learn about current business and audit issues related to assigned area of banking industry specialization
Participate in special projects, such as research and analysis of issues and assistance in the review of new systems or procedures, as requested
Understand compliance with all regulations governing the banking industry, as well as agency guidelines and organization policies
Experience and competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a business discipline preferred
Willingness to obtain professional certification such as CIA, CPA
Detailed, focused, and strong written and verbal communication skills
This position is anticipated to pay a base rate between $43,523/annually and $63,834/annually. This rate does not include potential incentive pay and benefits paid for by the company which may be in addition to the base rate of pay. The base rate of pay is determined by factors such as required experience, skill set needed, business impact of position, value of budget oversight and people management, among other factors.
