Job Summary:
The Welder/Fitter is responsible for using MIG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies as required, meeting defined production schedules. This position is subject to on the job training located in Alabama, in order to learn company processes, procedures, and standardizations.
JOB DUTIES:
- Prepares and sets up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.
- Arranges parts for welding and staging processes.
- Builds welded assemblies for new products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards.
- Reports fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
- Participates in and attends cross functional meetings as required.
- Supports the Quality Assurance department with respect to jig & fixture evaluation.
- Ensures compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
- Operates other necessary equipment and performs tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications.
- Performs additional duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- All candidates must be willing and able to train for days/weeks at our corporate facility in Alabama.
- 6 months of trade school or welding college experience - 2 years of working welding experience.
- Must have MIG / GMAW or SAW welding experience and ability to read blueprints.
- Completion of a welding course or AWS certified a plus.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and testing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand/walk 95% of the work day.
- Lift up to 60 - 80 pounds with assistance from overhead cranes or co-workers.
- Twist, reach and bend frequently.
- Possess hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity (gross and fine).
- Possess depth perception and peripheral vision.
- Possess the ability to hear.
- Possess the ability to ascend and descend a ladder.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Subject to standing on hard surfaces up to 12 hours per day.
- Exposure to hot and cold conditions, noise, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery.

All listed amounts are net pay & available to hourly manufacturing personnel only.

- $350 6 months employed
- $500 12 months employed
Requires zero (0) tardies or unexcused absences allowed during this time period.
Associate must not receive any progressive discipline per the Employee Handbook.
